Installer 24/7 Audio chooses Pioneer PRO AUDIO CM Series surface mount speakers for trio of Amsterdam eateries.

The Dutch capital city of Amsterdam is globally renowned as a cultural hotspot. A magnet for international tourists, the city’s nightlife is legendary and the range of cuisine available in its thriving restaurant scene rivals that of anywhere in the world. Every restaurant and bar works hard to create its own style and atmosphere, and music is more often than not a central part of the aesthetic. Amsterdam-based audio integrators 24/7 Audio recently completed sound system installs in three distinctly different venues across the city, the common denominator for which was the Pioneer PRO AUDIO CM range of commercial surface mount loudspeakers.

24/7 Audio has more than fifteen years experience of installing professional and commercial audio products and designing bespoke systems for its clients. A strong reputation for great service has ensured that the company enjoys a busy schedule and is always in great demand. The installs took place at De Biertuin, a stylish bar/restaurant with beer garden; Helling 7, a converted former shipyard canteen on the Amsterdam Marina, and Lavash, a Mediterranean experience which combines traditional and modern cuisine.

Although the settings and spaces to be covered by the new systems varied significantly, the brief for each location demanded smooth, consistent audio that although not overpowering for customers, was clear and present in every area. 24/7 Audio chose to use Pioneer PRO AUDIO CM-S54-K 4” surface mount speakers used in combination with Powersoft M50 amplification, and designed systems that delivered complete coverage to multiple zones within each venue.

Mike Ho of 24/7 Audio commented: “The CM Series speakers achieve a very good spread of sound with a wide listening angle at a very competitive price. The relationship between quality and cost is excellent, and the units are easy to install thanks to their mounting brackets which allow use on a variety of surfaces – locking hinges make the job easy for a single technician.”

At Lavash, 8 speakers were installed, while at Helling 7, a total of 14 were placed into a protected outdoor location. The CM-S54-T is IP54 rated and can be used in certain outdoor settings where they are not subjected to excessive amounts of rain or moisture. At De Biertuin, 18 custom-painted units completed the picture.

For Pioneer PRO AUDIO, the recent release of the CM surface mount speakers has proved an immediate hit, with a wide variety of hospitality venues in particular opting to take advantage of their high quality sound reinforcement, sleek design and ease of installation. Mike Ho of 24/7 Audio sums up the trio of restaurant installs in one word: “Perfect!”
