Unilumin Launch UMini at ISE 2020

Steve Scorse, CEO, Unilumin UK

Steve Scorse, CEO, Unilumin UK, talks us through the company’s latest release, UMini at ISE 2020.

The market demand for an LED screen of this size, high definition, vibrant colours and great details has increased over the years, especially in the commercial sectors.

UMini presents a perfect picture with 20,000:1 high contrast ratio and HRD. The brightness can reach 2,000 nits, so even if it’s in a bright room, the visual experience is still great. That’s brighter than today’s OLED sets. And the high brightness makes UMini fit into a wider range of scenario applications for our customers. Also, integrated packaging technology protects the LEDs from colliding and also increases moisture-proof ability, expanding its durability. Of course, UMini has 180° wide viewing angle and saves power by 40% compared to SMD.

The market behind UMini technology is huge. The technology behind it can broaden the application field of existing LED display products, bring more market opportunities and create greater market value for integrators and distributors. The excellent display effect brings a better user experience to the end-users and UMini is robust enough to perform under different kinds of environment. At the same time, Unilumin can provide the market with great production capacity and excellent services.

UMini LED can apply to industrial design (like automotive design and exhibition), high-end commercial display, high-definition studio, educational and medical screen, home theatre, high-end retail etc.

From the aspect of pixel pitch and resolution, the products are mainly positioned as 2K, 4K and 8K applications in the future.

UMini has achieved a large perspective, with no sense of the particles when watching. It has also improved the luminous efficiency of the chip to ensure high contrast in a highlighted environment, presenting a clear picture and meeting the application needs of customers in different scenes. In addition, UMini uses flip-chip technology and dynamic energy-saving technology, achieving a 40% energy saving effect.

In terms of protection, UMini solves the problem of high-frequency maintenance of LED products, the wireless connection between cabinets, and supports front and rear maintenance as well as wireless installation.

At the beginning of 2019, Unilumin invested more than $10,500,000 in an intelligent manufacturing base, whose focus is the research and development of Mini-LED and Micro-LED. The UMini Series released at ISE 2020 is a breakthrough of Unilumin’s long-term research in multiple aspects of Mini-LED technology, from epitaxial growth, LED chip manufacturing, packaging technology to system integration. What’s more, at present, Unilumin has the capability to mass-produce Mini-LED0.9 and produce pixel pitch up to 0.6mm.

As a world-class LED solutions provider, Unilumin has always been devoted to providing high-quality products and delivering valuable services to their global partners and customers. As Unilumin believes, with their endeavour in making innovations and delivering a premium visual experience to the world, the company will unlock more opportunities with their partners.

Unilumin is one of the first certified national high-tech enterprises with complete R&D, manufacturing, sales and service systems and independent production bases. The industrial park covers an area of 270,000-metre sq and now owns about 1,248 patents.

Among them, 89 invention patents have been authorised, 37 PCT and 248 invention patents have been applied for. In addition, Unilumin has also established a central laboratory project, which has been approved by CNAS (code L6507) and has become the SGS, TUV-SUD, TUV Rheinland, UL-WTDP sighting laboratory. It mainly provides reliable test data for the design, development and verification of the company’s new products in the early stage, quality control in the later stage, and pre-certification pre-test. It also provides the same service to external customers. Now it has gradually become an industry-shared test platform.
