China Water Ancient City Livens Up with Modulo Pi’s Media Servers

Located in the Shandong Province in East China, Liaocheng is a city of water with the DongChang Lake lying in the heart of the city, surrounded by rivers. Besides the water landscape, Liaocheng offers a rich history and cultural heritage, including the Dongchangfu district and its Guangyue Tower, an ancient wood pavilion built in 1374.

To further enhance the attractiveness of the water ancient city, the Liaocheng Dongchangfu Tourism Project has been established with a total investment of 1 billion yuan (+130 million euros) coming over different phases.

The project integrates all kinds of entertainments including the Dongchang Lake Water Curtain Show and Confucian Temple Night Show.

These shows create an immersive experience allowing the audience to feel the past and present of the ancient city. They rely on rich visual technologies such as water curtain, video-projection, light, and holography. The technical setup includes 5 Modulo Player Standard media servers by Modulo Pi. One Modulo Player is used as the master controller for all the audio and lighting equipment. The other 4 Modulo Player servers power 24 NEC video-projectors used for the shows.
