Chief introduces Tempo Flat Panel In-Wall Single-Box Mount System

Chief has announced the availability of its Tempo Flat Panel In-Wall Single-Box Mount System. Designed for commercial and higher education environments, the UL 2442 Listed solution supports small to medium displays in landscape or portrait orientation. It is engineered to streamline installation, support multi-phase installation workflows, and provide easy access to AV components for fast, efficient service.

In-wall display mounting has long required integrators to navigate a familiar set of challenges: framing that forces structural modifications, installation timelines that conflict with active construction schedules, and service calls that require two technicians to remove displays to access AV system equipment. The Tempo In-Wall Single-Box Mount System addresses each of these directly, combining mount hardware, in-wall device storage, and service access capability into a single integrated system that aligns with how commercial construction projects actually run.

“The Tempo In-Wall Single-Box Mount System was built on direct feedback from integrators who needed a cleaner, faster path to in-wall installations without the compromises that have always come with the category,” said Dorian Haro, Senior Product Manager, Chief.

“By expanding our in-wall offering to support smaller display sizes, we’re helping integrators standardise on a proven installation approach across more applications. No stud cutting. A two-stage workflow that fits construction timelines. Real service access behind the display. These are not incremental refinements. They are the fundamentals integrators told us were missing.”

No stud cutting, no framing modifications
The Tempo In-Wall Single-Box Mount System is engineered to fit within standard 16-inch on-centre stud framing without modification, eliminating the stud cutting that has added labour, structural complexity, and coordination risk to in-wall display installations across commercial environments. UL 2442 Listed for both metal and wood stud construction, the mount gives specifiers code-compliant confidence from the earliest phases of a project.

A two-stage workflow built for real construction schedules
The Tempo In-Wall Single-Box Mount System supports a two-stage installation process that aligns with actual construction sequencing. The mounting enclosure is installed during the rough-in phase, before drywall, with the display and finishing work completed in a separate commissioning stage.

This separation eliminates scheduling conflicts and prevents any installation bottlenecks that may occur when in-wall AV is treated as a single-phase activity in an active construction environment. Post-install adjustments are built in. Levelling, plumb, and lateral shift can all be corrected after installation, removing the requirement for precision placement during rough-in and reducing rework on projects where structural realities deviate from construction drawings.

Single-technician serviceability
A 10.65-inch service extension allows the display to be pulled forward on the mount, providing direct access to all components and cabling without removing the display from the wall. Combined with Lever Lock storage panels for standardised in-wall device mounting and knockouts on all sides for flexible conduit and cable routing, the system is designed to make service calls faster and cleaner across the life of the installation.

Award-winning design
The Chief Tempo Flat Panel In-Wall Single-Box Mount System earned four industry awards at InfoComm 2026, recognised across digital signage and pro AV trade programs: the rAVe 2026 Best of InfoComm Award for Best Signage Mount or Infrastructure Solution, and three Future 2026 Best of Show InfoComm Awards from AV Technology, Sound & Video Contractor, and Digital Signage. The Chief Tempo Flat Panel In-Wall Single-Box Mount System is available now.
