Established by Ivica Bušić and Johnny Čučević, Dubrovnik-based FiFi Sound founded a lighting division in 2005 – having specialised in staging, LED screens and AV services for four years prior – with Robe lighting the brand of choice from the outset, following an initial purchase of four ColorSpot and four ColorWash 575 AT moving lights. “We are the one-stop solution for the client,” remarked Bušić. “We like the fact Robe fixtures are manufactured in Europe.” Since its initial acquisition of Robe lighting fixtures, FiFi Sound has invested steadily in more Robe technology as it has come to the market via Croatian distributor, LAV Studio…

Over time, the Jack Singer Concert Hall (JSCH) has undergone many upgrades to ensure it remains a state-of-the-art performance venue, including a complete overhaul and replacement of its seating and house lighting in 2017. Most recently, that process required a comprehensive retooling of its audio infrastructure that included an upgrade to the hall’s existing DiGiCo console and the purchase of a new DiGiCo Quantum 338. While much has changed in recent years, the venue’s ongoing reliance on DiGiCo consoles at JSCH and throughout the Arts Commons complex’s other venues, has not. Jack Jamieson, Head Sound Technician at JSCH explains, “I’ve…
The Ingolstadt Theater in Bavaria, Germany, is a classic playhouse that – like so many other theaters – had to adapt during the pandemic in order to stage plays during the summer. The prerequisites were good though; after all, the outdoor stage in the Baur Tower was already a firmly established open-air stage. Due to the pandemic however, capacity was reduced from 750 to 170 so a second outdoor stage was sought. It was finally found in the neoclassical Reduit Tilly building giving space for a further 110 guests (instead of the usual 1,000). The open-air stage in the Baur…

Mainline Show Productions have invested in both Martin Audio’s Wavefront Precision WPS and WPM rigs—the advanced platform that was recently recognised with the Queen’s Award for Innovation. The Manchester-based event providers, described as a one-stop shop for most technical aspects of live production and dry hire, decided to extend their capacity rather than simply replace existing PA. “We saw WPS opening up more possibilities for us on small to medium festivals, so went for 16 boxes. WPM will give us flexibility on smaller gigs in its own right, or as fill for WPS-rigged stages, so we opted for eight enclosures,” states…
