ADJ has announced the latest addition to its Hydro Series of professional automated luminaires – the new Hydro Beam CMY.
Combining intense output, CMY colour mixing, a comprehensive feature set, lightning-fast movement, and robust IP65-rated construction, this powerful beam fixture is engineered to deliver spectacular aerial effects for large-scale productions, indoors or out.
Powered by an OSRAM Sirius HRI 310W PRO discharge lamp, the Hydro Beam CMY generates an ultra-bright 2-degree beam capable of slicing through ambient light, haze, and atmospheric effects with exceptional clarity.
Precision-engineered optics and a high-quality 6-inch glass lens ensure razor-sharp beam definition and consistent performance across long throw distances, making the fixture ideal for outdoor festivals, concert touring, stadium productions, theme parks, and high-impact event environments.
Expanding the creative potential of the Hydro Series, the Hydro Beam CMY introduces smooth CMY colour mixing for limitless colour possibilities and seamless transitions, allowing lighting designers to craft bold saturated looks as well as subtle tonal variations with ease.
This is complemented by a 14-position dichroic colour wheel providing quick access to essential colour options as well as CTO, CTB, and UV filters.
The fixture also features an independent five-colour dichroic filter (red, green, orange, blue and yellow), which can be applied separately – or in addition to – the CMY system and colour wheel, allowing the creation of a whole palette of multi-coloured beam effects.
The fixture’s extensive effects package also includes 17 static GOBOs — including four beam reducers — along with split-colour and shake effects for dynamic aerial textures and motion.
Two rotating prisms, a 16-facet circular prism and a 6-facet linear prism, can be used independently or layered together to multiply beam effects and create huge mid-air visuals.
16-bit motorised focus allows sharp projections over varying distance as well as the option to deliberately blur the output. A frost filter further extends the fixture’s versatility, allowing it to generate softer wash-style looks when required.
Designed to meet the demands of modern touring and event production, the Hydro Beam CMY utilises high-speed 3-phase pan and tilt motors for rapid, precise movement and highly responsive effects programming.
The fixture supports DMX with RDM protocols while also incorporating integrated Aria X2 wireless connectively for cable free control as well as remote fixture management and OTA firmware updates, enabling streamlined setup and flexible system integration.
Like all fixtures in the Hydro Series, the Hydro Beam CMY features durable IP65-rated construction that protects against dust, moisture, rain, and environmental contaminants.
This rugged design allows it to operate reliably in challenging outdoor conditions while also reducing maintenance requirements for indoor installations exposed to haze and atmospheric effects.
