VIOSO introduces new LEDtools software

VIOSO has announced LEDtools, a new software solution for camera-based auto-calibration of LED walls.

The software brings VIOSO’s long-standing calibration expertise natively into the LED domain and enables precise, fully automated alignment of complex or curved LED structures.

LEDtools analyses non-planar LED walls using cameras and automatically aligns them geometrically — without manual mesh mapping. Even irregular or large-scale installations can be set up significantly faster and with higher consistency.

The result: drastically reduced setup times, fewer errors, and a stable, reliable commissioning process.

“This technology is truly unique on the market,” said Christian Steinmann, CTO of VIOSO.

“Thanks to our patented EyeView color-correction technology, we achieve unmatched image fidelity.

“LEDtools measures the performance of every individual SMD pixel and adjusts brightness and color automatically,  based on a tracked camera that captures the relevant viewing angle.”

LEDtools ensures homogeneous brightness and color across the entire surface, no hotspots or color shifts and realistic and consistent imagery, even under challenging conditions.

This dynamic color stability is a crucial quality factor for virtual studios, driving simulators, CAVE systems, and immersive environments.

For correct perspective rendering, LEDtools uses continuous tracking of the viewer or pilot viewpoint. The software adjusts the virtual frustum automatically, depending on the exact viewing position.

This ensures that objects appear geometrically correct, maintain accurate proportions and look natural even on curved or non-planar LED walls – a key feature for driver-in-the-loop simulators, XR stages, CAVE setups, and all scenarios where realism and precision are essential.

Unlike tools originating from the projection world or based on manual mesh mapping, LEDtools was designed from the ground up as a native LED calibration system.

Computer-vision algorithms enable fully automatic geometric and color alignment — regardless of whether the installation is flat, curved, or hybrid.

LEDtools is already natively connected to numerous render engines and can be integrated into new workflows via SDK.

This allows the software to fit seamlessly into existing systems — independent of the controller, media server, or custom pipelines.

Concluding Christian Steinman continued: ‘With LEDtools, VIOSO sets a new standard for automatic LED display calibration: camera-based, dynamic, color-accurate, precise, and seamlessly integrable.

“The software unlocks new possibilities for simulation, virtual production, and immersive visual environments — wherever maximum accuracy and efficiency are required.”
