Bluesound Professional simplifies multi-zone audio at Four Points by Sheraton Barcelona Diagonal

Located on Barcelona’s Avinguda Diagonal, the Four Points by Sheraton Barcelona Diagonal is a modern urban hotel where design, comfort, and atmosphere are central to the guest experience.



Welcoming thousands of visitors each year from around the world, the hotel set out to improve audio across its public and restaurant spaces.

Partnering with AV integrator Wipple and GAPLASA PRO, the official distributor of Bluesound Professional in Spain, the teams deployed a Bluesound Professional networked audio solution delivering high-quality sound, intuitive control, and future-ready scalability throughout the property.

To enhance audio across the reception, bar, lounge, gym, restaurant, and outdoor lounge, outdated analogue speakers were replaced with three BSP1000 PoE active speakers, alongside four BCS300 in-ceiling pendant speakers.

Powered by the BluOS networked audio platform, one B400S network player acts as the central hub, managing and distributing clear, even coverage across up to four independent zones and allowing the hotel to tailor the music in each area.

The use of the Mood Media streaming service enables curated, brand-aligned music to be delivered throughout the hotel.

A CP300 wall-mounted touch-screen control panel in the reception’s back office provides centralized control for the entire system.

“The key requirement was simplified operation,” said Albert Paya, Pro AV Sales Specialist at Wipple.

“Sound quality has improved significantly across all communal spaces, and everything can be managed from one place. Each zone can be adjusted quickly and independently using the touch screen — even the rooftop gym.”

As the hotel is operational 24 hours a day, it was imperative that the installation caused minimal disruption to staff and guests.

“The project took just two days to complete thanks to its network-based design and PoE-powered speakers,” explained Paya. “Pre-configuration off-site also meant the solution was largely plug-and-play once installed.”

Staff confidence is at an all-time high thanks to the platform’s easy-to-use interface, and technical issues are now a thing of the past.

“The old setup caused constant configuration problems, and our technical team was receiving calls day and night,” recalled Paya.

“Now that the reliable Bluesound Professional system is in place, our phone lines are extremely quiet.”

“The previous system required far more cabling, which led to ongoing connectivity issues and made it difficult for the hotel to manage,” added Ricard Vilalta, Integrator at Wipple.

“This has been massively simplified, making it far easier to add additional speakers for future expansion.”

The unobtrusive speakers look subtle and modern in every space, complementing the hotel’s contemporary style.

Beyond aesthetics, balanced sound at low listening levels was a critical consideration, particularly for background music in communal areas.

“In many spaces, music is played at low volume, so good low-frequency performance is essential,” explained Paya.

“With this setup, the sound remains clear and balanced, creating the right atmosphere without ever being intrusive.”
