Polygon Productions, the team behind some of the world’s most advanced spatial audio experiences, is launching Polygon Portal, a new immersive listening room in London designed for deep, intentional music experiences.
Located in the heart of Soho, Polygon Portal is a 360° spatial audio listening space built for album playbacks, artist-led sessions, live performances and wellness programming, powered by an L-Acoustics sound system.
Polygon Portal has been designed as a secret listening room, accessible exclusively to Polygon Insiders via free sign-up and with limited capacity.
Polygon Portal launches at a moment when audiences are looking for more meaningful shared musical experiences.
Evening programming at Polygon Portal will include one-off live performances, album launches and world premieres with artist Q&As, landmark albums presented in 360° spatial audio and exclusive fan events.
Highlights include spatial audio premieres from artists including Jeff Buckley, Sigur Rós, Yann Tiersen, Fink and Beth Orton, alongside collaborations with leading labels including Sony, Ninja Tune, Mute, Partisan, Edition, Exit and Ghostly International.
Each event is designed to remove distraction and bring audiences closer to music, with spatial sound placing listeners inside the music.
Alongside single artist programming, Polygon Portal will introduce The Polygon Portal Essay Series – curated listening sessions pairing themed playlists with written essays that explore the cultural, historical and emotional context behind the music, transforming how audiences connect with what they hear.
Sound and Wellbeing
The Polygon Portal for Wellbeing offers immersive experiences based around the rejuvenating qualities of spatial sound.
Every morning practitioners of Yoga, Soundbath, meditation and other wisdom traditions lead sessions to help reinvigorate the body, relax the mind and rebalance the nervous system.
Programming at Polygon Portal will include guided meditations, yoga, movement and breathwork, pilates, qi gong, and sound baths and journeys.
The Polygon Portal is collaborating with Earth Echo, Elemental Resonance, Senzomi, Errin Briscoe, Jnana World, House of Voga, Sana, Robert Koch and Alex Ferreira to bring their transformative practices into an immersive sonic environment.
Polygon Portal is also partnering with Nordoff and Robbins, the UK’s leading music therapy charity. As part of the partnership, Polygon will host music-led wellbeing sessions and offer audiences the option to support the charity through donations when booking experiences.
Sandy Trappitt, Director of Fundraising, Nordoff and Robbins, said: “Polygon’s immersive ‘Portal’ listening room concept brings the idea of music being more than something we just listen to, rather something we experience with our whole self, to life. It deeply resonates with our mission of using music and music therapy to enrich people’s lives, and we are proud to partner with such an innovative, forward thinking company.”
From global spatial audio pioneers
Polygon Productions has spent years developing immersive spatial audio environments, working with artists to reimagine how music is experienced. Their approach places audiences at the centre of sound, using multi-speaker environments to create a three-dimensional listening experience.
Polygon Portal brings this technology into a permanent, intimate setting for the first time in London.
Polygon is deploying a 17.1.10 L-Acoustics sound system, with 17 Speakers around the audience, each with a sub, 10 speakers overhead supported by six subs, and four additional subs at the front of the room.
Polygon Portal is designed for artists, labels and listeners who want to explore music differently. From album launches to listening sessions, the space offers artists the opportunity to present music in immersive spatial formats, including Dolby Atmos and bespoke spatial mixes.
Adam Nicholas, Founder of Polygon Productions, said: Polygon Portal was created for people who truly love music. In a world of constant noise and distraction, we wanted to build a space where listening becomes the main event again.
“Spatial audio is transforming how music can be experienced, but too often it’s treated as a technical feature rather than a creative opportunity. Polygon Portal is designed to change that, bringing audiences inside the music and creating an intimate experience that’s as exciting for artists as it is for listeners.”
With limited capacity and exclusive access via Polygon Insider membership, Polygon Portal aims to become a new cultural destination for music lovers and wellbeing seekers in London.
Polygon Insider members will receive access to sessions, early booking opportunities and entry to the Portal’s social space and bar in Soho.
