LD Systems will present its latest audio and sound reinforcement solutions for the AV and fixed installation market at ISE.
The focus of the Adam Hall Group audio brand’s trade fair appearance is the world premiere of MAILA passive – a new system variant of the modular and scalable MAILA Modular All-Round Intelligent Line Array, which is specifically tailored to the requirements of demanding installation projects and professional rental service providers.
MAILA passive was developed for fixed installations as well as for professional rental and corporate use.
The system combines the acoustic properties and modular mechanics of the proven MAILA concept with a classic, power amplifier-based system architecture and can be seamlessly integrated into existing DSP, network and control infrastructures.
MAILA passive: components
The passive MAILA system family is based on the proven modular architecture of the existing MAILA system, but dispenses completely with integrated power amplifiers and instead relies consistently on external amplification.
The MAILA SAT, which already functioned as a passive component in the previous system, remains the central array element.
The range is complemented by the MAILA COL P column module for extending the low-mid range, the MAILA SUB P 2 by 15-inch subwoofer and the new MAILA SUB 15 P 1 by 15-inch bass reflex subwoofer, which will also be available in future as a version for the active MAILA with integrated power amplifier.
In addition, up to six modules of the new SUB 15 – both in the passive (SUB 15 F P) and active (SUB 15 F) versions – can be flown in the rig via an optional flying frame, optionally also in a cardioid arrangement (3 by 2).
Instead of the active MAILA SPA amplifier module, the new MAILA SAT X is used in the passive system.
This module sits between the power amplifier and the array and acts as a mechanical and electrical adapter.
In addition, the MAILA SAT X can be operated independently of the array as a stand-alone near-fill point source, including an integrated stand with variable angulation. In active MAILA setups, the MAILA SAT X can be operated via a new version of the MAILA SPA amplifier module with SpeakON outputs.
To meet the extended visual requirements of installation and industrial applications, all passive MAILA modules (with the exception of the SUB P) are available in black and white housing colours.
Preconfigured power amplifier racks
For system operation, LD Systems offers pre-configured touring and single racks with the DSP and DANTE power amplifiers from the ADA series, patch panels and optional power distribution.
In addition, MAILA is now fully integrated into the Powersoft Armonia+ software, which enables centralised control and monitoring of all relevant DSP functions and facilitates integration into existing system landscapes.
Versatile accessories
The new passive series makes MAILA even more versatile.
This is also reflected in the new, extensive range of accessories for temporary and permanently installed use.
The selection includes solutions for ground stack and flying applications, rigging hardware for different subwoofer configurations as well as wall and ceiling mounts for permanent installation.
All relevant components are available in black and white versions and therefore also fulfil the extended aesthetic requirements in architecturally sensitive environments.
Further innovations
In addition to the world première of MAILA passive, visitors to the LD Systems stand can expect a host of other innovations and product highlights for integrated systems applications.
These include new hardware tools from the TICA and TIVA series and the latest major update v1.4 for the QUESTRA® design and management platform.
