Constructed over the last two years, the recently opened Cultural Centre in the Witosa Housing Estate is a modern, multifunctional facility, designed to significantly enhance the area’s artistic, educational, and recreational life.
The Centre is seen as a key cultural investment in this part of the Polish city of Katowice, seeking to integrate the local community by providing a new space for creative and active leisure.
Equipped with rooms for art, ceramics, music, and dance, the centrepiece of the facility is a 208-seat auditorium with a mobile stage.
The Centre’s technical provision is of the highest standard and includes an audio system by CODA Audio. Supplied by Tommex, the system was designed, integrated, installed, and commissioned by experienced AV specialist SLX Sp z o.o.
SLX has been delivering technologically advanced solutions across a variety of market sectors in Poland for more than twenty years. SLX’s brief was to supply an audio system that guaranteed premium sound regardless of the nature of the event.
A CODA Audio N-APS system was chosen as the best fit for for the auditorium. N-APS (arrayable point source) combines the versatility of a point source with the perfect arrayability of a line array, creating a unique category for small to medium sized venues.
SLX installed a system comprising two flown clusters of three N-APS per side supported by two N-SUB flown centrally, delivering excellent sound quality with wide, even coverage across the auditorium.
our CODA Audio D5-Cube (ultra-compact two-way 5”/1”) loudspeakers supplemented the main system, ensuring precise coverage at the sides. The system is powered by three LINUS12C amplifiers whose DSP functions enable the precise adjustment of system parameters for the room acoustics and type of event.
