Iksan Church in South Korea Strikes a Chord with NEXT-proaudio

Iksan is located in Jeollabuk-do, South Korea, about 200km far from Seoul to the southwest, and the historical place of the Baekje dynasty.

The church started as a small gathering in 1975 with only 17 members from a total of five families who decided to unite together for worship. Since then, the church has multiplied immensely with the main sanctuary’s capacity being around 2,000 seats.

NEXT-proaudio, Korean distributor for AVIX installed a NEXT-proaudio sound system within the church’s main sanctuary for the system renovation.

The main aims of the renovation being to achieve high sound pressure levels with high sound fidelity and good speech intelligibility throughout the venue.

The sound system comprises eight NEXT LA122 line array speakers, with four LA122W line array speakers flown below LA122 for down fill sound control for the main hang on the left and right side over the stage.

Two NEXT X12 full-range speakers provide great quality for the front fill and four NEXT X8 were placed under the balcony. Two NEXT LAm112x were placed as stage monitor speakers and two HFA108 as control room monitors.

Four NEXT MQ10000 amplifiers power all the system for the main speakers, front fill and under balconies X8 with two NEXT DP260 digital signal processors. One NEXT MA3200 amplifier is being used to power the two stage monitor speakers.

At the church’s request the whole system has also been custom painted in Ivory colour to match its design.
