SGM Deutschland Celebrates Opening of New Facilities in Cologne

Managing Directors of SGM Deutschland, Michael Herweg and Thorsten Sattler, invited customers, suppliers, neighbors, friends and the press to officially open new office premises for SGM Deutschland in Cologne. Peter Johansen, SGM CEO joined from HQ in Denmark to celebrate this milestone in the company history with the German team.

Looking back at a successful event, Michael said: “I’m very pleased that so many people accepted our invitation. The event marked a great start to 2016 for the German team. Our new office facilities in this central location will facilitate a perfect home base for servicing customers in the German-speaking region. The combination of office space, warehouse facilities and our grand showroom gives us the best foundation to continue our successful path and growth.”

During the opening event a band was hired to break in the new 220 sq-metre fully equipped showroom. In the future, this is where visitors will experience demos of the powerful SGM LED range. It was with great satisfaction that Thorsten described the achievement of this milestone: “Michael and I are very happy. Seeing so many amazing people here to celebrate with us makes it clear that we must be doing something right. The combination of our unique products and socialising with our guests till early morning made it a truly perfect night.”

Peter Johansen congratulated both Managing Directors: “What Michael and Thorsten and their team have managed to build up almost from scratch is an incredible achievement, which is something we are all very proud off and impressed by. We have a close cooperation between Denmark and Germany and I’m looking forward to our next steps together.”

Germany has always been a front running hub for SGM. As one of the largest markets within the EU demonstrating a clear eager for innovative solutions, Germany continues to be a very significant market for SGM.

And with 2016 off to a great start, SGM Deutschland are looking forward to an eventful year in their new, tailored surroundings – kicking off with the SGM Lighthouse Days, where SGM Deutschland will be offering product demonstrations and training sessions free of charge. The final programme is expected to be released mid-February but for now, Sattler and Herweg are promising scheduled user seminars with renowned lighting designers and high-profile guest speakers.
