Funktion-One: Res 1.5
The R1.5 is the latest exciting addition to Funktion One’s Resolution Series of loudspeakers. Building on the success of the R1, we have created a 2-way enclosure with 90 degree dispersion, super high-fidelity and incredible low frequency output for its small size. It is perfect for applications needing a single enclosure per side including club, theatrical and live sound use. For the first time we have combined our unique 5” cone loudspeaker with a new 90 degree axhead-loaded waveguide and substantial 18” bass to offer an extremely capable two way enclosure.
In common with the Resolution 1, the 5” eliminates the need for compression drivers with their inherent harshness and distortion. The 5” driver’s ability to operate cleanly down to a low crossover point of 650 Hz allows the transition to the bass driver to be of exceptional smoothness. Furthermore, our recent breakthrough in bass loading technology enables use of an 18” driver in an enclosure size where previously only a 15” loudspeaker could have been used. As usual with Funktion One there is no system EQ and the sound is extremely involving.
