EM Acoustics M-12

The M-12 is a compact, low profile floor monitor designed for any application where accurate, powerful artist reference is required. Various innovative features have been incorporated to make the M-12 as user-friendly as possible. The compact enclosure houses a reflex-loaded 12” weatherproofed neodymium LF cone drive unit and a 3”diaphragm, 1.4” exit HF compression driver on a differential dispersion waveguide. This waveguide produces a coverage pattern of 90°H x 40°V at 1m, which reduces to 50°H x 40°V at 3m. This variation gives a performer freedom of movement whilst reducing unwanted spill into adjacent microphones. The enclosure is constructed from CNC-machined Birch plywood, and is supplied with heavy duty steel bar handles and non-slip rubber feet. An expanded steel mesh grille coated with acoustically transparent black foam protects the drive units from damage and moisture. The M-12 utilises an internal UniPhase passive crossover, freeing it from the time smearing typically encountered with passive products. The M-12 however comes as standard switchable active/passive for increased flexibility. The enclosure is supplied as left and right-handed versions for stage pairing, and is fitted with 6 x Neutrik SpeakonTM NL4MP connectors to allow discrete cable management.
