d&b audiotechnik’s E8 is a two-way multipurpose loudspeaker employing an integrated coaxial driver with neodymium magnet assemblies. The 1” exit HF compression driver and constant directivity horn are accommodated within the circumference of the 8” LF driver. It has either a 90° x 50°or 50° x 90°dispersion pattern (h x v), selected by rotating the horn through 90°. It can be used for speech and music as a stand alone full range system, incorporated into larger distributed sound reinforcement situations, mounted on loudspeaker stands or flown from overhead bars. The superb multi faceted cabinet of the E8 makes flexible deployment possible; this is realized using polyurethane hard foam which being slightly more dense than wood, results in exceptional acoustic performance. Coupled with this, the innovative coaxial horn mounting design allows rotation through 90° without the need of any tools. These aspects, coupled with the use of Neodymium magnet assemblies in the LF/HF drivers results in diminutive dimensions, a weight of 8 kg and a maximum output of 129 dB SPL at 1m distance. The addition of the E15X subwoofer extends its bandwidth of 62 Hz to18 kHz down to 40Hz.
