LLB

Stockholm, 13-15 May 2009

If you’re a business based in a country with a population of just nine million, it’s safe to say your demands of a domestic tradeshow are fairly modest: a pleasant, convenient exhibition space where the emphasis is on meeting and greeting customers as well as maintaining and developing business contacts. After some disappointing editions in recent years, the LLB show, held in Stockholm
this May, seemed to tick all the right boxes.

“We have received many nice comments about the event from
exhibitors, visitors and partners,” show spokesman Mats Holme
told mondo*dr. “We think that the quality was consistently very
good throughout the event with nice booths and high visitor quality.
Particularly interesting is that there were lot of new visitors
- the number of visitors increased by 35%”

The 10th edition of LLB, the Nordic region’s leading trade fair for
audio, lighting, video and media technology, brought together 130
exhibitors and media partners at the Kistamässan Expo Centre in
Stockholm between 13-15 May, drawing 4,567 visitors over those
three days.

A total of 600 visitors participated in the 23 seminars which ran
alongside the show. The program included talks on an array of
disciplines, including video, audio and lighting. Keynote speakers
included: Robert S Simpson of the Electrosonic Group, who gave
his views on the latest developments in digital projector and display
technologies; Richard Zwiebel, a world leader in sound over
Ethernet and DSP technology; and Per Sundin, one of Sweden’s
most acclaimed lighting designers with experience in TV, film,
theatre, opera and architectural sound design.

Other seminars covered the use of wireless technology, microphone
technology, acoustic calculations in sound engineering,
advanced sound engineering with line-array, the possibilities of
laser technology, LED lighting for stage and exterior use, electrical
safety, electric chain hoists and mobile platforms, as well as training
in TITAN, QSC Q-SYS and much more.

The Biannual show is set to return in 2011, though dates are yet to
be announced.
