Cooper Controls Announce New Brand Manager for Entertainment Brands
8 February 2010
Cooper Controls UK announced today the appointment of Claire House as Brand Manager for its Entertainment Brands. As part of the company’s new structure and strategy for the performance entertainment marketplace, House will manage day- to-day marketing, reporting, and strategic guidance of the Zero 88 entertainment lighting control and State Automation high density dimming system product ranges.
After graduating with an honours degree in Chemistry from the University of Bath, House realised that she had a passion for working with people. She quickly turned her focus to marketing and talked her way into a marketing consultant position with Blakes Marketing Practice. Within months, House was managing the research, communications, and positioning projects for clients such as Ericsson, United Utilities, Computersoft Consulting, and Sun Microsystems. House also co-authored a detailed market audit on the Facilities Management and UK Computer Services Markets published by Asset Information.
In 1997, House relocated to South Wales were she accepted a role at Zero 88 as a marketing executive, working directly for founder Peter Brooks. Though House started with Zero 88, her abilities were recognized and during her time with the organization she led the marketing team at AIM listed Polaron PLC, where she managed marketing activities for its13 business units including manufactured brands, distributors, value added resellers and its specialist nanotechnology company Oxford NanoScience.
In this new role, House will refocus her efforts in conjunction with the sales teams to define and lead Cooper’s Entertainment strategy in 240V markets. “With Claire’s vast experience in the entertainment industry,” says Ken Walma, General Manager, Cooper Controls, “combined with her passion and dedication to the Zero 88 brand, she was a natural choice for the leadership role.”
“It’s an exciting time for the brand,” said House. “We have an excellent core business; couple this with Cooper’s focus on innovation and its commitment to the entertainment market and we have never been in a better place for growth. I’m delighted to take on this opportunity and look forward to working with the Zero 88 team and our distribution partners as we move into a new phase of development.”
